Mark Jay Paulson, 53 of West St.Paul, MN died Wednesday, April 10th, 2024.

Mark was born during a snowstorm in Mayville, ND to William and Karen (De Vries) Paulson. He was baptized and confirmed at Elm River Lutheran Church in Galesburg, ND.  Mark attended Clifford- Galesburg Public School, graduating with the class of 1989.  He attended Minneapolis College of Art and Design and Fashion Institute of Technology for Production Management and Apparel in New York.

In Mark’s younger years he enjoyed singing, music, and had many artistic talents.  Mark was a self-taught knitter, an amazing artist and created beautiful pieces for family and friends.  He was very proud of his knitting creations and wore them as his daily attire. Mark enjoyed spending time with his nephews and family during the holidays. He also had many special friendships that he cherished and loved to spend time with.

Mark was employed at Macy’s, Men’s Warehouse and most recently was employed at Nordstrom’s department store as a tailor where he enjoyed his job and co-workers. Mark also taught knitting classes at StevenBe where he was able to share his talent.

Mark is survived by his parents Bill and Karen Paulson of Elbow Lake, MN; two sisters Tracy (Megan) Lattimer of Pierz, MN; and Tanya (Scott) Bakken of Wendell, MN; three nephews, Madison (Emily) Nelson-Gira, Matthew Bakken and Alex Bakken.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents Orville and Harriet Paulson and Steve and Tracy De Vries and several other relatives.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to one of the following: National Suicide Prevention, National Institute of Mental Health or your local homeless shelter.

Memorial Service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 20,2024, at United Lutheran Church, Elbow Lake. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
