Mark Peeples Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lambie Funeral Home - Philadelphia on Feb. 4, 2026.
Mark Thomas Peeples, 57, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away on January 27, 2026.

Born on March 1, 1968, in New York, New York, Mark dedicated more than 18 years of service to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where he worked in security. He was known there not just for his reliability, but for his steady presence, kindness, and the quiet reassurance he brought to those around him.

Mark was married to his beloved wife, Paula Peeples, who survives him. He is also survived by his mother, Eva Sanjurjo Morales; his father, Steven Peeples; his Aunt Candida Sanjurjo; his stepson, Dovante Joenatha Monk; and many cousins and extended family members. Mark was previously married to Dovey Peeples, who preceded him in death.

From a young age, Mark enjoyed exercise and began studying Tae Kwon Do-earning him the affectionate title of our "Puerto Rican Bruce Lee." He was also a devoted Superman fan and could often be spotted wearing one of his Superman T-shirts, a reflection of his playful spirit and belief in doing good wherever he went. At family gatherings, Mark was always ready with a joke or two, especially those classic "Dad jokes" that were so corny you couldn't help but laugh.

Above all, Mark dedicated his life to encouraging others to trust God wholeheartedly. Through his daily mission posts, he shared his faith openly and faithfully, demonstrating his love for Christ Jesus while inspiring others to love people in healthy, unique, and creative ways. Mark was always on the move-both physically and spiritually-sharing the Word, encouraging a healthy lifestyle, and uplifting everyone he encountered.

Mark touched countless lives through his unwavering faith, compassion, humor, positivity, kindness, and gentle spirit. He impacted many people in ways he may never have fully realized and was truly a blessing to all who knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends may greet Mark's family on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm at Lambie Funeral Home, 8000 Rowland Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19136. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 9:00 am - 9:00 pm at Jenice's Event and Conference Center, 301 East Godfrey Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19120. Interment will be private.

As we remember Mark today, we give thanks for the life he lived, the faith he shared, and the love he poured into others so freely. His walk was one of service, joy, and trust in God. We now commend him into God's loving care, holding close the hope and peace he so faithfully pointed us toward.

"Well done, good and faithful servant."

- Matthew 25:21

"The Lord bless you and keep you;

the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you."

- Numbers 6:24–26

"Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing."
