Mark Nicholas Rickenbaker, age 36, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Ascension Via Christi Hospital, Manhattan, Kansas. He was born on October 22, 1989, to his parents Leonard Richard Rckenbaker and Marianne Kaye Samarrai in Manhattan, Kansas.
Mark was raised in Charleston, South Carolina, before returning to Manhattan, where he made a lot of friends and was very well loved and cared about. Mark loved to play baseball in his younger years and was great at it. He was a great son and brother and an amazing friend with a smile that could light up a room. He had a big, caring heart and was always ready to stand up for anyone who was in need.
Mark is survived by his father, Leonard, of Manhattan; a son, Luka James Rickenbaker, Junction City; a sister, Rachel Marie Rickenbaker (Johnson), of Manhattan; and a host of great friends and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marianne; his stepmother, WillieJean Rickenbaker; Aunt Tina Mari Farless;; and Grandmother Patricia Jean Driggers
A visitation and viewing will be held from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a graveside will take place at 11:30 A.M. at Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan, Kansas.

I knew him back in high school, and while our paths went different directions, I always respected him. I never had a negative interaction with him. When I heard of his passing, it broke my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and everyone who loved him during this difficult time.
