Sara Cutter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home on Feb. 2, 2026.
In Loving Memory

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Sara Cutter, a 73-year-old mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and lifelong Manhattan resident. She spent her entire life surrounded by familiar places and the people who meant the most to her.

She is survived by her three children: Derek Gaume, David Gaume & Lisa Gaume, daughter-in-laws Liz Gaume & Rose England, her sister Sheryl Jensen, her brother Dean Jensen, four grandchildren: Alissa Torres, Taylor Dowling, Maddie (Gaume) Fisher, Anna Gaume & Alexa Gaume, and six great-grandchildren: Isaac, Aiden, Alex, Sophie, Oaklyn & Declan and her beloved dog Duke.

She was preceded in death by one child, Chris Gaume; one grandchild, Austin Dowling; two husband(s), J.L. Gaume and Chris Cutter; and her parents, Harold and Jackie Jensen.

She enjoyed giving gifts and often expressed her care through thoughtful gestures. She loved cooking for family gatherings and preparing dishes that became part of family traditions. She also enjoyed playing games-cards, board games, bingo, slot machines and anything that brought people together for a bit of fun, friendly competition or sheer luck.

Birthdays and Christmas were especially important to her, and she put care and creativity into making each celebration memorable. Whether through gifts, meals, or the way she prepared for the occasion, she had a talent for making holidays feel special.

Her life was shaped by the memories and traditions she created, as well as the unexpected moments that made her uniquely herself. She will be remembered for the experiences she helped shape and the gatherings she brought to life.

A private gathering will be held at a later date to honor her life and share memories.

The Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502, is assisting the family with service arrangements.
