Mark Steven Senn, Strong City, Kansas, died January 5, 2026, in Emporia, Kansas. He was 69 years old.
Mark was born on August 17, 1956, and was raised in Valley Falls, KS, by his parents, Frank and Shirley (Lonard) Senn. He was a beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather.
Mark loved his family deeply. His surviving family includes his daughter Danielle, son-in-law Ryan, and grandson Ryker; his three sisters, Cindy, Debbie, and Peggy, and their families. His partner Carolyn Conley, her sons and daughters-in-law Doyle, Blair, Duane, Maddie, and granddaughter Huxleigh. He joined his parents and brother, Danny Joe, in heaven.
Mark worked for the Emporia Police Department for 29 years, retiring as a Detective in 2011. He loved fishing, hunting, ranching, watching football with family, and being out in the Flint Hills, usually cruising around in his jeep. Mark was also known for his excellent carpentry skills, which he learned from his father.
He loved video chatting with his little buddy Ryker when he wasn’t in Alabama with him. If he wasn’t out in the Flint Hills in his jeep, he could be found with his family working on various carpentry projects or watching football, cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs or K-State Wildcats. He enjoyed attending games with his family and friends and loved being out on the water in nature, usually fishing but boating too.
He was always available to listen and provided excellent advice. He was a constant presence in his family’s lives, providing unwavering support and love.
Memorial contributions can be made to Prairie Paws Animal Shelter in Emporia, Kansas, and sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, Kansas, 66801.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, located at 605 State Street, Emporia, Kansas, 66801. Burial will take place at 3:00 p.m. the same day at Valley Falls Cemetery, Valley Falls, Kansas, 66088. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
