Deer Isle
Mark Daniel Shedd, 72, died unexpectedly October 15, 2024, at his home in Deer Isle. He was born August 10, 1952, in Lewiston, Maine, the son of Mark Redans Shedd and Mary Elizabeth Marsden Shedd.
Mark graduated from Germantown High School in Philadelphia, PA. He served in the United Stated Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. After his service, Mark attended veteran programs in Augusta including writing and art. He enjoyed spending his summers at Taylor Pond in Auburn and on Little Deer Isle.
Mark is survived by his stepmother, Shirley Shedd MacLeod and brother, Andrew Christopher Shedd, both of Portland, ME; three sisters, Lynne Shedd Simonds of Torrington, CT; Dale Shedd Whitesell of McLean, VA; and Kim Bailey Shedd of Darnestown, MD. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Nancy Shedd Scott of Philadelphia, PA.
A memorial service for Mark will be held in the summer of 2025.
