Mark Sherwood Spellman

Mark Sherwood Spellman, 73, of Versailles, Kentucky, passed away on June 6, 2025. He was born April 25, 1952 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Walter and Kay Pyles Spellman. Mark was a member of Versailles Baptist Church where he was a Sunday school teacher and Chairman of the sound committee for many years.
Mark was an avid sportsman, Eagle Scout, and a National Champion Marksman. He played many sports including football, baseball, basketball, and ran track and field. Mark was the chairman of Woodford County Little League for many years where he also coached.
Mark will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Cheryl Green Spellman, Versailles, sons, Brian (Carrie) Spellman, Versailles, Brandon (April) Spellman, Lexington, sister, Toni (Frank) Burroughs, Indiana, and his grandchildren, Katherine Spellman, Andrew Spellman, Hayden Spellman, Avery Spellman, Grady Spellman and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Monday, June 9, 2025 at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rose Crest Cemetery, Versailles, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Brian Spellman, Brandon Spellman, Andrew Spellman, Shawn Thomas, Darren Valentine, and Aaron Smither. Honorary pallbearers will be Katherine Spellman, Hayden Spellman, Avery Spellman, and Grady Spellman.
