Mark Lee Stevens, 64 of Sanderson, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital. Born on February 9, 1961, Mark was the son of Benjamin and Sara “Jo-An” (Phillips) Stevens.
Mark spent the majority of his life as a resident of Jacksonville. He was a longtime member and was baptized at the former Faith Lutheran Church on Old Timuquana Road.
Mark enjoyed a life surrounded by family and friends. He loved NASCAR and football. He also had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and camping. Mark also liked to try his hand at blackjack and poker. You could catch Mark listening to rock and roll at any point in time and he also had a knack for quoting his favorite movie lines. Mr. Stevens will be remembered for his fun loving personality.
He was preceded in death by his father, sister, Julie Stevens Bruce; his best buddy, his dog “Toni”; and his son, Matthew Lee Stevens.
He leaves behind his daughter, Jessica Linnea Stevens of Sanderson; mother, Jo-An Stevens of Gainesville, Georgia; siblings, Todd C. Stevens of Jacksonville and Stacy (Steve) Thomas of Gainesville, Georgia; nephews, Steven (Meghan) Bruce and Alex (Taylor) Thomas; as well as a host of friends.
A celebration of Mark’s life will be held Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM. Mark will be laid to rest at Riverside Memorial Park.
