Funeral services for Mr. Mark Taylor will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Bryceland Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Bienville, Louisiana. Bro. Bruce Bratton will officiate the service.
Mark Taylor was born on January 7, 1959, in Ruston, Louisiana, to Buel Gene Taylor, Sr. and Maria Baier Taylor. He entered into eternal rest on December 27, 2025, in Bastrop, Louisiana, while on the way to one of his favorite places, Simmons Sporting Goods.
Mark was an extraordinary man whose life reflected his faith, curiosity, and love for others. He earned his degree in Civil and Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana Tech University. Mark possessed many talents and interests, including photography, fly fishing, amateur (HAM) radio as an Extra Class operator, traveling, and outdoor adventure. He especially enjoyed time on his skid steer and treasured the many cruises he shared with his beloved “cruise family.” Above all, Mark was a devoted Christian and a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buel Gene Taylor, Sr. and Maria Baier Taylor, and by his brother, Gene Taylor.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Connie Taylor; daughter, Morgan Pardue (Washington, Oklahoma) and husband Cody; son, Walker Taylor (Daphne, Alabama) and wife Justine; grandchildren, Ripp Pardue and Maxine Taylor; sisters, Jeanette Travis and Analiese Taylor; along with numerous other relatives and friends who were blessed to know him.
Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Moore, Rick Michaels, Shannon Wilhite, Cody Pardue, Kenneth Fontenot, James Billeaudeau, and Walker Taylor. Honorary pallbearers include Ricky Skanes, Jim Bell, Gary Hill, Fred Sears, Steve Lee, Allen Emerson, and the Brothers of the TKE Fraternity.
