I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. A merited crown awaits me.
Mark Alan Tillman age 63, of Millcreek Twp., passed away the morning of January 29th 2022 at home with his children, granddaughter, with the love of his life by his side.
Mark was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather- "Pops"
He enjoyed running at Presque Isle, taking the pets on long walks, and spending time with family and friends. He was a brilliant and loving man with a kind and gentle soul, who was relentlessly positive and courageous. He will be profoundly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Mark was born in Westfield, Massachusetts, to Gary and Thressea Tillman on May 11, 1958. He attended Saint George Catholic School and McDowell High School. Carole and Mark married on May 25th 1985 at Saint Patrick Roman Catholic Church. Mark graduated from The University of Pittsburgh with the academic achievement of Cum Laude from the school of pharmacy which led to a 34year career at Saint Vincent Hospital and Health South Rehabilitation Hospital. Mark is survived by his wife Carole (Wassel) Tillman, children; Christopher Tillman, Stephen Tillman,(Cassie Rapela) and their daughter Rosalina, parents Thressea and Gary Tillman, two sisters; Sherry Antalek (John) and Cindy Heinlein (Steve), in-laws: Lance and Dorothy Wassel, Gary Wassel, Alan and Michelle Wassel, Kathy and Glen Facchiano, Georgette and Ray Powell, Alfred and Marlena Wassel, and life- long friends; Ron Smith and Erich Zech, many nieces and nephews, and his faithful dog, Rex, who never left his side.
Mark was preceded in death by his Godson Nik Blumish.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the VNA Hospice especially, nurses; Anne, Tracy, Crissanne, Kate, and Chaplain Karen.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from 3 pm until the time of the Funeral Service at 7 pm. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice, 2253 West Grandview Blvd., Erie, PA 16506.

Dear Carole and family,
I am so saddened to hear of Mark's passing. We had several classes together at McDowell. I also worked at StVincent with him and was privileged to call him a friend. I always appreciated his quiet honesty and encouraging presence. You are in my prayers and thoughts and have our deepest sympathy.

Carole and family; although I moved away from Erie and never kept up with my HS classmates - I considered Mark one of my best friends at McDowell HS. God has welcomed home a remarkable man. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this trying time.
