Mark Edward Vogts

Mark Edward Vogts, 67, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away on July 26, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, surrounded by his family. Mark was born on July 8, 1958, in Newton, Kansas, to Edward and Kathryn Vogts. He spent his early years alongside his brother and sister at Alta Mills, near the Little Arkansas River, before the family moved to their home south of Moundridge. Under the guidance of his mother, Mark came to know Christ and accepted Him as his Savior at a young age-a foundation that shaped his life. At just 15, Mark began working with his father in the family business, Vogts Earthmoving, learning the craft of dirt work and developing the strong work ethic that defined him. Mark graduated from Moundridge High School in May of 1976. On November 13, 1982, he married Joyce Wedel at Eden Mennonite Church in Moundridge. Together, they made their home in Moundridge before eventually building their family farm west of town, where they raised four children. In 1985, Mark and Joyce purchased Vogts Earthmoving from his parents, continuing to grow the business with dedication and integrity. Following the death of his father-in-law in 1988, Mark made the decision to continue farming-a choice that ignited a deep passion. Over time, the family operation, MJ Farms, became his proudest legacy, one he joyfully passed on to his son. Mark took immense pride in striving for excellence in all that he did, and his legacy is one of hard work, faith, and devotion to family. Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce Vogts; their children Lindsey (Matt) Begnoche, Aaron (Lindsay) Vogts, Katie (Justin) Kaufman, and Jessie (Daniel) Borgen; and nine cherished grandchildren, all of Moundridge. He is also survived by his sister, Jenny (Scot) Loyd of Galva. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Kathryn Vogts, and his brother, Alan Vogts. A private family burial will be held. The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Moundridge Funeral Home. In lieu of a funeral service, a Celebration of Life will be held at 6 pm, Friday, August 1 at the Vogts Earthmoving Shop. All are welcome and food will be served.
