Mark Weis, 46, of Durango, died Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center in Dubuque.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Mark was born January 30, 1979, the son of Mark Weis and Linda Bentley.
He graduated from Bellevue High School in 1997, where he was an active athlete on the football, basketball, and wrestling teams.
Mark enjoyed woodworking and spending time outdoors, always appreciating the simple pleasures of nature. Everyone who knew him is more than likely aware that he was a shameless fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes. He loved to spread the wealth of his favorite mantra, "one love," with everyone around him. Most of all, he valued time spent with his family. He always went the extra mile to be there for his kids in any of their endeavors, whether it be coaching their baseball, softball, and volleyball teams, attending theatrical performances, exploring the great outdoors with them, or cheering them on through their educational journeys. The memory of Mark will always go hand-in-hand with the memory of how deeply he loved his family.
Survivors include four children, Zaebian Machande of Dubuque, Vera Weis of Chesterfield, MO, Zander Weis of Dubuque, and Delilah Weis of Dubuque; six siblings, Gracie (Brian) Bagosy-Young, Arii (Andrew) Davis, Claryssa (Ben) Durham, Bob (Angie) Fredericksen, Kathee (Marco) Foxan, Alan (Jessica) Weis; one step-sister, Missy Bentley; ex-wife, Jessica Burn; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, Mark (Judy) Weis and Linda (Terry) Bentley, and many aunts and uncles.
