Markita Denise McFall, 57, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Friday May 23rd, 2025. Born on October 7, 1967 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Freddye Kaye and Jimmy McFall.
She is survived by her mother, Freddye Kama; her brothers, Eric and Justin McFall; her sisters, Tracie Majors and Sherry McFall Parramore; her son Ryan Catsulis (Cortney); nieces, Alyssa Lewis (Jadon), Ava Olmo, Jocelyn McFall, and Kathy Godwin; and nephews, Caleb Easterling, Alex Parramore, and Elijah and Ezekiel Olmo; and devoted friends Deanna Schwerin and Dee Birkhimer.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy McFall; her stepfather, George Kama, and many of her dear friends, that like Markita, left this world way too soon.
Markita moved from Houma, Louisiana to Pensacola with her family at the age of 12 when her dad took a job at a local machine shop. She attended Pine Forest High School from 1982-1984, where she met many of her lifelong friends, and she received her diploma from Pensacola Junior College Adult High School.
Markita had a love for plants and the outdoors and enjoyed working at U.S. Lawns of Pensacola where she learned how to do commercial landscaping. She eventually ventured out on her own performing landscaping and lawn maintenance projects for private clients. Digging in the dirt planting flowers, bushes, trees and shrubs, and creating beautiful landscapes was her therapy and her passion. She was a voracious reader from a very early age and in her spare time she loved to read books, work on craft projects, and she spent many hours coloring pictures of dragonflies (for Devin). She was a giving person and moved to Destin, FL to help take care of her terminally ill dad, whom she loved and missed terribly when he passed. She also had a soft spot in her heart for seniors and the elderly. She was a loving caregiver and took care of many elderly people in her life, including her work at a nursing home while living in Texas.
She was a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and a loyal friend. She loved people and made friends everywhere she went. Even though she was quite the handful at times, she had a heart of gold and would go above and beyond to help a friend in need. She was fierce and she was fearless. She lived in the moment and never worried about tomorrow. She was a free spirit, her mother's "wild child". She lived her life the way she wanted, with no apologies. She loved her friends and her family and she loved the Lord.
She loved many, was loved by many, and she will forever be missed.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday May 31st at Family-Funeral & Cremation, 5627 North Davis Hwy, Pensacola, FL 32503. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM and the funeral will follow immediately after at 2:00.
