Marlene Adkins Obituary
Marlene A. Adkins, age 87, of Canton, passed away on June 27, 2024. She was born in Marietta, Ohio on March 19, 1937, to Rollie and Thelma (Posey) Stille and is a graduate of Timken Vocational High School class of 1955. Following high school, Marlene married her husband, Joe, whom she met on a blind date. Marlene began her working career at Clarkins in a retail role then she worked at Canton Malleable Iron later known as Canton Castings as the supervisor of quality control. She had a lifelong love of sewing and crocheting, where she was known for making teddy bears for family members, quilts, and several gifts over the years. Marlene cherished her family and enjoyed hosting several family gatherings.
Marlene is preceded in death by her husband Joe; son Randal; and sister Mary Arnold. She is survived by her children Brad (Cathy) Adkins and Teresa (Rob) Herrmann; grandchildren Tiffany (Luke) Schmidt, Mandy (Tony) Howard, and Matt Herrmann; step grandchildren Todd, Troy, Tammy, and Tara; great grandchildren Isabella, Dean, Payton Schmidt, and Jase, Jake, and James Howard; long time neighbor and close friend of over 45 years, Barb Daugherty.
Calling hours will be Monday, July 1, 2024, at the Arnold Funeral Home at 1517 Market Ave N. from 4:30 – 6:30 PM and from 10-11 AM at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook, KY on July 3, 2024. Funeral services are at 11 AM in the funeral home. Final resting place is Wells-Wilder-Adkins Cemetery.
