Marlene Joyce Blane

Marlene Joyce Blane, 93, of Lincoln, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Pekin Hospital. Marlene was born on March 15, 1932, in Cadott, Wisconsin, to her parents, Floyd and Bernice Hanson. They preceded her in death, along with her daughter, Wendy Jo Jeltema, and sisters, Rosemary Murray, and Nancy Monroe.

Marlene is survived by her loving family, sons, Jim (Jeanie) Blane, of Peoria, and Randy Blane, of Pekin; daughter, Connie Van Fleet, of Westerville, Ohio; and grandchildren, Rachel (Elliott) Rouse of Ann Arbor, MI, Meryl (Bryan) Baskin of Rocky River, OH, Ben (Janice) Blane of Seattle, WA, Liz King of Peoria, Ryan Jeltema of Denver, CO; and great-grandchildren, Levi, Phoebe, Owen, Arlo, Braxton, Remy, Bradley, Knox, and Rex.

Marlene was a graduate of San Jose High School. She attended Western Illinois University before working for her family at the Hanson Dairy. Marlene worked for the Lincoln Developmental Center for many years, but she professed that her occupation was simply "mother". She was talented at embroidery and loved her art pen designs. She had a generous and caring spirit. Marlene was a member of the San Jose United Methodist Church.

A memorial service for Marlene will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 2pm at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to San Jose Methodist Church, 600 S 1st street, San Jose, IL 62682.
