Marlene Clarke Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home - East Louisville on Jun. 2, 2025.
Marlene Walker Clarke, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away peacefully Thursday, May 29th.
She was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia and grew up in Wheeling, West Virginia. She came to Louisville to attend the former Ursuline College. Marlene met her husband Charles David Clarke and together they raised their family in Louisville.
Marlene's passions were her family and her faith. As a former member of Holy Trinity Church and St Francis of Rome, she gave generously of her time to a variety of church ministries which were deeply meaningful to her.
Her two daughters and five granddaughters were a source of great pride and joy throughout the years. The most meaningful and special times were those spent with family in Louisville and Chicago.
An avid sports fan, she enjoyed playing doubles tennis and cheering on her children, grandchildren and her UL Cardinals.
Marlene was a social person who thrived in the company of her friends, book club and bridge group.
She is survived by her daughters Sherry Sims (JT), Amy Silvers (Glenn), her five granddaughters Kate, Lucy and Claire Chauvin, Clarke and Ella Silvers, and two great grandchildren Joseph and Amelia. She is also survived by her brother Bill Walker (Cheryl).
She is preceded in death by her husband Dave Clarke, her son Ken Clarke and her parents Bill and Agnes Walker.
Visitation will be Friday, June 6th at 9 a.m. at St Francis of Rome Church, 2119 Payne Street. The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., followed by a private burial at Calvary. A luncheon reception to follow at Big Spring Country Club.
