Marlene Cohen Obituary

Aug. 23, 1939 – Aug. 25, 2025 Marlene Streng Cohen, 86, of Argyle, Texas, passed away on August 25, 2025. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on August 23, 1939, to Mel and Anna (Gruber) Streng. On December 23, 1960, she married Jerry Cohen, and together they shared 64 years of marriage. Marlene is survived by her husband Jerry; children Karen (Bryan), Mark (Jori), and Bradley (Erin); and grandchildren Dane (Jordan), Bethany, Kyle, Alexander (Chris), Hannah (Josh), and Andrew; and great-grandchildren Mirabel and Hazel. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Charles (Patricia), Barbara (Ray) and David (Mary). Marlene trained as a nurse and dedicated her life to service through her family, her parish, and her community. She was a key founding member of Grey Matters North Texas Brain Tumor Support Group, a support group and community for brain tumor survivors, and served actively at many Catholic parishes, most recently at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, including as president of the Women of St. Philip. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, Flower Mound, Texas on Friday September 12, 2025 at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) or Grey Matters (greymatters.us) in her honor.
