Marlene Kasper Obituary
Marlene S. (nee Vrabel) Kasper, age 85, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025.
Beloved wife of Ken for nearly 63 years; loving mother of Jill Dentzer (Jeff) and Jeff Kasper (Chris); devoted grandmother of Caitlyn Kasper (Pablo Berruecos Avila), Taylor Dentzer, and Kristyn Kasper. Cherished daughter of the late John and Florence (nee Kaminsky) Vrabel; dearest aunt, cousin, and friend of many, especially Carol Talvola Brieck.
Marlene was known as a woman who prided herself on being active. In her youth, she enjoyed playing softball and bowling. She was a skilled tennis player and golfer, enjoying tuning into the Master's Tournament. She was an active member of the PTA and nominated for lifetime membership. She was an active member of Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Brecksville. She not only enjoyed listening to the piano but also playing it.
Marlene enjoyed vacationing on Hilton Head Island. She was not drawn to the typical vacationing aspects, like the beach, the pool, or sailing. However, she was drawn to the quality time she spent with her family and watching them create long-lasting memories.
She was an active and passionate fan of the Cleveland Indians. However, with that love came an equivalent amount of loathing for the New York Yankees, like any passionate Cleveland baseball fan.
Her fondness for life included planting and gardening. She loved flowers and displayed that by surrounding her home with them. A vegetable garden kept on the deck showed quality time spent with her husband.
Marlene was a persistent fighter. She was a three-time cancer survivor, but never let it affect her outlook on life. Despite physical challenges, she lived her life with dignity and grace, proving to be a fierce and determined woman.
All of her life's journeys were triumphed by her greatest devotion, her granddaughters. Her granddaughters knew nothing but love from Marlene and now use that love in their daily lives.
All will remember her as a woman who loved and cared for people. The joy she found in human connection was equal for friends and strangers. Marlene lived a life of joy that carried over to the people around her, and that will be her memory for years and decades to come. As Marlene's life motto goes, Live, Love, Laugh.
