Marlene Rosemarie Lichtle

Marlene Rosemarie Kramer Lichtle passed away from lung cancer on July 13, 2024, surrounded by loving family in her home in Jackson, California. She was born on September 19, 1935, in Albany, CA, and was a longtime resident of Pinole, CA., but has lived in Jackson, California for the past two years. She is survived by her sons, Grant (Marilyn), Mark (Nancy) and Craig; and granddaughters, Taylor Lichtle and Kasey Lichtle. She is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, William (Bill) Carl Lichtle. She also leaves her sister, Virginia (Jeannie) Kramer Smelser, as well as niece, Stacey Thomas, and nephew, Edward Smelser, and many loving friends and family. After graduating from high school in 1953, Marlene worked at the Chevron Research Center in Richmond, CA as a secretary before focusing on her family's upbringing and supporting the family's real estate business. Marlene was active in many ways; walking groups, square dancing, traveling and RVing. Her sewing and quilting talents were widely revered for beautiful dresses and costumes she created for her family. Marlene was a wonderful woman who was mom to all. She organized many family gatherings and cooked amazing meals filled with love and laughter. Marlene will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A private viewing by family will be held in July followed by a celebration of Marlene's life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
