Marlene Dee Malott, 91, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 5:14 pm on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Cedar Creek of Marion. She was born in Harvey, Iowa, on Sunday, July 30, 1933, to Henry and Daisy (Parsons) Johnson. She was married to Sherril Lyle Malott, who preceded her in death.
Marlene graduated from Marion High School and worked in sales for The Box Shop, Dillman's Furniture, and Indiana BMV. She was a member of Maple Run Friends Church for many years.
Marlene was in many home economics and card clubs. She enjoyed playing golf and cards with her friends. She also loved crocheting and made many dishrags and potholders for her family members over the years. Her most proud moments were helping her late husband on the family farm where she had milked many cows. Marlene will be remembered as a hard-working, faithful, and strong-willed woman who will be missed dearly by the many family members she leaves behind.
Survivors include her children, Theresa (John) Lewis of SC, Gregory "Kent" (Nondus) Malott of Jonesboro, and Karen (Phil) Jordan of IL; grandchildren, Tonya (Mike) Mauk, Angela (Steve) Burkhart, Brad (Lisa) Malott, Stephanie (Brett) Webb, Brent (Stefanie) Malott, Scott (Wendy) Jordan, and Amanda (Dave) Bender; step-granddaughters, Lesley (Rob) Barton, Brooke (John) Cheek, and Mary (Seth) Boyes; 21 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Johnson; mother, Daisy M. Johnson; husband, Sherril Lyle Malott; and daughter-in-law, Janice M. Malott.
The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Maple Run Friends Church, 4460 W. 400 S., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Marlene's life will begin at 12:00 noon with Pastor John Key officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Maple Run Friends Church.
Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
