Richard F. Tait, Jr., 67, of Marion, passed away at 2:23 am on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. He was born in Wabash, Indiana, on Thursday, October 3, 1957, to Richard and Betty (Baker) Tait. On January 1, 1997, he married Christine "Christy" Norrick, and she survives.
Richard served in the United States Navy from 1975 - 1979 aboard the USS Peterson. Following his military service, Richard worked at Arc of Wabash from 1981 - 1992, he then worked as a production supervisor at Carey Services from 1992 until his retirement in 2023.
Richard is survived by his wife, Christine "Christy" Tait of Marion; daughter, Stephanie Sloan of Marion; grandchildren, Alise (Wes) Berg, Devin Sloan and Gavin Sloan; great-grandsons, Leo and Franklin "Finn" Berg; sisters, Marilyn (Late Gary) Speelman of Roann and Linda (Late Mark) Whinery of Wabash; nieces and nephews, Brandy (Reid) Amones, Autumn (Ed) Nevgloski, Derek (Kimber) Speelman, Christine Whinery and Kaitlyn Whinery; as well as several friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard F. and Betty J. Tait.
The family will receive visitors from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Richard's life will begin at 5:00 pm.
