Marlene M. Matosky, 75, of Dallas, passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, at Allied Services Hospice Center in Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Scranton on May 20, 1948, Marlene was the daughter of the late Robert and Stephany Strezleski Nash.
She was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas.
Marlene was a very outgoing, social person. She was a free spirit who loved to travel, see new places and meet people.
She was a prolific crafter and a member of the Red Hat Society. She was also active in the foster grandparent program of Tunkhannock.
As a homemaker, Marlene was a devoted and dedicated wife and mother. Above all, her greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family and friends. She especially adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Matosky and her brother, Robert Nash.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Geisinger Life Program in Wilkes-Barre, the staff at Allied Services Hospice Center, and Curatio Staffing for their excellent care and support bestowed upon Marlene and her family.
Surviving are her children, Kimberly Matosky, Plains Twp.; Dennis Matosky and his wife, Traci, Dallas; Marlene Matosky and her husband, Michael, McCormick, Delaware; and Molly Matosky and her partner, Joseph Bradbury, Dallas; 3 grandchildren, Brittany, Stephany, and Collin; two great grandchildren, Rowan and Edalyn; brother, Leonard Nash and his wife, Jeanie, Lake Winola; sister-in-law, Sylvia Nash, Scranton; sister, Patricia Moeller and her husband, Frank, Taylor; brothers and sisters-in-law, John Matosky and his wife, Mary Ann, Wyoming and Julie Namutka and her husband, Gary, Plains Twp.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday from Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, with Deacon John C. Jorda, of Gate of Heaven Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
Family and friends are invited to attend Marlene's viewing, which will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Allied Services Hospice Center, 200 S. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702; or to Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Road, Dallas, PA 18612.
