Marlene Augustine McClure

Mrs. Marlene Augustine McClure, age 80, of Lindale, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at her residence.
Mrs. McClure was born in Floyd County, Georgia on April 29, 1945, daughter of the late Rev. Willie Taylor Paynter and the late Rethlay Rubymae Rogers Paynter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Milton McClure and by a granddaughter, Amanda Floyd Mann. Mrs. McClure was a devoted and loving mother. She raised her children in the Christian faith in the 70's after the tragedy with her first husband, she found herself alone raising 4 children. Marlene was a master cosmetologist for 40+ years and she co-owned and operated Ladies & Gents Beauty Salon on Maple Road for several years.
Mrs. McClure was a faithful Chirstian. She received her Minister's License 23 years ago and served as Pastor of the Cedartown Church of God of Prophecy for several years until her retirement from the pastorate. She was still a faithful member of the Cedartown Church of God of Prophecy and played the piano at the church. Mrs. McClure also played the guitar.
Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Casey (Ronnie) and Teresa Floyd (Ricky); two sons, Felton Morrow (Michelle) and David Morrow; six grandchildren, Rick Floyd (Sarah), Morgan Casey, Luke Casey (Andy), Alicia England (Matt), Justin Morris, and Blake Morrow; several great grandchildren; a sister, Marsoonia Beal; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 6pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Pastor David Cain officiating. Interment will be on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 11am at Georgia National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Wednesday from 4pm until 5:45pm.
Pallbearers are asked to meet at Georgia National Cemetery on Thursday at 10:30am and include Luke Casey, Cason Mann, Tony Gowen, Rick Floyd, Blake Morrow, and Olen Ridgeway.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Cedartown Church of God of Prophecy Piano Fund.
