Obituary published on Legacy.com by Staton-Borowski Funeral Home on Dec. 28, 2025.
Marlene D. Morales, age 71, of Warren, passed away on December 22, 2025, at St. Joe's Hospital.
She was born on November 11, 1954, in Trumbull County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Melvin Burr and Mary (Hill) Burr.
Marlene was a graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School, Class of 1972. She was employed as an assembly line worker for GE for 15 years before moving on and later working for FedEx for 25 years till her retirement. She was a member of the Red Hat Club and enjoyed the friendships and social activities they brought into her life.
Marlene was a talented and passionate seamstress and crafter. She loved sewing and was known for making her own clothing, teddy bears, cabbage patch-style dolls, seasonal crafts, and decorations-especially for Halloween and Christmas crafts. One of her proudest creations was a handmade Frankenstein monster decoration, complete with a Bride of Frankenstein she created the following year. She also made her own life size Santa Claus. She learned to sew from her aunt Shirly and carried that skill throughout her life. Marlene also had a fondness for simple pleasures, including Coke Icees and tacos, and was remembered for her warm personality and perfect smile.
She married Richard Morales on August 25, 1979, and is survived by him.
In addition to her husband, Marlene is survived by her brother, Russ Burr; three nieces; her aunt Shirly; and six beloved cats.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother.
