Marlene Taub Shulman, 85, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025. Originally from New York City, Marlene lived in Harris, NY for many years, where she worked as a critical care nurse at Catskill Regional Medical Center. She was involved with the local arts council and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved to attend events at the Forestburg Playhouse and discover new restaurants all over the Catskills. Marlene was an avid supporter of animal rescues, donating regularly and adopting strays that wandered onto her land. She loved to host friends and family for holidays and made sure everyone felt welcomed and was well-fed. She spent her later years in Charleston, SC and Charlotte, NC.
Marlene is survived by her children, David Katz (Mary Jane Sedorowitz) of Summerville, SC, Jessica Katz Punshon (Jeffrey) of Ericeira, Portugal, and Robert Katz (Lorena) of Gastonia, NC;many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her sister, Beverly Taub Halberstadt of Phoenix, AZ. She was proceeded in death by her husband, David Shulman; her parents, Benjamin and Alice Taub; and her sister, Ceil Taub Weinstein.
