Marlene Walters, 87, of Brainerd, passed peacefully in her sleep on July 25, 2024. Celebration of Life will be held at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter on Friday August 2, 2024 from 2:30 to 5:00 with a short service at 3:30.
Marlene was born on December 1, 1936, to Bill and Eleanor Kimbler in Crosby, Minnesota. She married Gerald Walters on June 29, 1957, and celebrated 67 years together.
Marlene is survived by her husband Jerry; children, Craig (Andrea) Walters, Mark (Lois) Walters, Gary (Lisa) Walters; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and four siblings. She is preceded in death by her parents; two siblings; and infant child Gregory.
How do you sum up a wonderful life of 87 years? Maybe she didn’t do it all, but she did a whole lot. She was a wonderful wife, fantastic mother, terrific grandmother, and great friend to many. For a job, she was a teacher. But what defined her was her love of: family, friends and faith. She loved Jesus. She did not preach at you, she just lived God’s love and you knew her faith.
Marlene enjoyed traveling across North America (Disney 15 times), snowmobiling, motorcycling, reading, and playing almost any kind of game. Marlene even went skydiving at 78. She was not blessed with wealth but much more importantly a life filled with Love.
