Marlene Yosick Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home - Sherrodsville on Dec. 19, 2025.
Marlene M. Yosick, age 90, a lifetime Sherrodsville resident, died early Thursday morning, December 18, 2025 in the Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Schoenbrunn where she had resided the past two years.

She was born May 31, 1935 in Dover, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late Forrest A. "Peanut" and Olive Naomi (Moffett) Stull. She married her husband, the late Donald M. "Don" Yosick on June 6, 1956. Don passed away suddenly on June 24, 1989. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jerome A. ""Jay" Yosick on April 27, 1993, and her only sister Mary Lou DeNicola.

Marlene was a fixture around the Village of Sherrodsville for many years. She formerly owned and operated Marlene's Gymnastic Center out of her home and hosted a gymnastics talent show every year. Countless area children benefitted from her training and guidance. She was graduate of Conotton Valley High School, was a strong supporter of their athletic programs, and was a former cheerleader advisor. Many years ago, she was a member of the former Sherrodsville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and supported local events for many years. She was anxious to meet her yet unborn great-grandson, although she did not survive to experience the event.

She is survived by a son, Jan M. (Natalie) Yosick of Leesville, OH and her grandchildren Trey, Tyler, and Tab Yosick, all of Leesville, Mrs. Tanika (John) Dietrich of Clarington, OH, Nicole Yosick of Cleveland, OH, and Andrew Yosick of Chillicothe , OH.

No formal public funeral services will be observed. Private interment will take place next to her husband in the Sherrodsville Memorial Gardens. The family would like to sincerely thank the Staff of the Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Schoenbrunn for their extraordinary care and attention to Marlene during her stay in the facility.
