Sun Prairie – Marlin Gerald Marohl, age 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday November 14, 2024, at Prairie Gardens Assisted Living in Sun Prairie. He was born February 3, 1935, in Cecil, WI to the late Carl and Anita (Schulz) Marohl. Marlin graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 1953. He served his Country for 2 years in the United States Army and also for 2 years in the Army Reserves. After the service he went into construction work and joined Carpenters Local 314 and retired in 1997 and remained a member until his passing. Marlin is a member of St. Albert the Great Church, Knights of Columbus and also the Bristol Rod and Gun Club. He loved deer hunting, playing Sheepshead, and working on woodwork projects.
Marlin is survived by his wife Mary; son Randy (Gloria) Marohl of Marshall, WI, daughters Renee (Douglas) Suchomel of Spring Hill, TN. and Renell (Rick) Renz of Sun Prairie; Three granddaughter: Ashley Leathers of Spring Hill, TN., Erica (Phil) Buedding of La Crosse, WI., Casey Jo (Matt) Reilly of Lake Mills, WI.; two brothers: Charles of Shawano, WI., and Dale (Pat) of Pulaski, WI. sister-in-law Audrey Marohl of Bonduel, WI; two great grandsons: Presely and Oliver Leathers and on great granddaughter Willa Buedding; and further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Rodney, sister Lois Krings, brother Allen, sister Susan Rhode, in laws Orlean and Margaret Dammen, brothers in law Ed Krings, Jack Hackett and Jack Dammen, and nephew Michael Hackett and nieces Patti and Terese.
A funeral will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday November 22, 2024, at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terr, Sun Prairie. Burial will follow at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens with military honors. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the service at the funeral home on Friday.
