Beverly Dieckmann Obituary

Beverly Mae Dieckmann, 90, of Sun Prairie, WI passed away on February 15, 2026 at home after spending her last days with family. She was born on March 22, 1935 in Oshkosh, to Margaret (Walker) Rank and Raymond P. Rank. She and her brother, Ray, grew up in the Plymouth/Elkhart Lake area and she graduated from Elkhart Lake High School in 1953.

Bev met her future husband, George Herbert Dieckmann during the summer of 1956 in Elkhart Lake where they both worked. They eloped in Morris, IL on April 1, 1957, April Fool's Day. Her mother thought it was a joke when they called to wish her a happy birthday and inform her of their news. They were married for 67 years and raised two children, Heidi and Greg.

After moving back to Oshkosh with her family, she re-joined Peace Lutheran Church where she had been baptized and remained a member for over 60 years.

Bev loved children, animals and nature. She worked for the Oshkosh School System for 24 years at Green Meadow and Roosevelt Schools as a Title One Aide and as a school Secretary. She made her home of 50 years in Utica Township where she enjoyed the four seasons and gardening. Here her children and grandchildren were taught to appreciate nature, forming memories to last their lifetimes. Being a grandma was the joy of her life!

Bev and Herb were fortunate to have wonderful friends with whom they were able to travel. They enjoyed trips to the UK, Canada, several European cruises, and many states within the US. In their later years, they moved to Evergreen Apartments where they lived for 7 years. They met many wonderful friends and she earned the title of "Cookie Lady."

Bev is survived by her daughter, Heidi (Bob) Larson, son, Greg (Anjum) Dieckmann, grandsons, Zach (Kelsey) Larson, Caleb (Erin Eggert Larson) Larson, Ethan (Gabe Neuman) Dieckmann, Ajay Dieckmann and great granddaughter, Atley Jo Larson as well as her sister-in-law, Marilyn Rank and nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Herb, her parents and brother, Raymond F. Rank and in-laws, Herbert E. Dieckmann, Irene Dieckmann and Eunice Cleo Snerly Schrader.

Private services will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, if you are inclined to honor her memory, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Peace Lutheran Church, Africa Forward Initiative, Inc (Clinic project), or to the organization that is most meaningful to you.

The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to her caregivers from Davita Dialysis Oshkosh and Sun Prairie, Home Instead and Agrace Hospice. Your respectful and loving care has meant the world to us.

Bev was the mother of one of my dearest friends who always made me feel so welcome and loved whenever we spent time together. She had a beautiful soul that just radiated when she smiled and she was a blessing to everyone who knew her.
