Marlin A. Preus

1946 - 2025

Marlin A. Preus, 78, of Lower Burrell, born Dec. 30, 1946, journeyed home April 18, 2025. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Nancy (Uber) Preus. Survived by their children Zoe 'Pamela' (Brian) Wood and Karla (Rev. Clint) Phillips, grandchildren John 'Jack,' Abigail, Joshua (MacKenley), Sarah, and Isaiah, sisters Lynette (David) Quering and Cynthia (Michael) Powell, brother Dennis (Diane) Preus, and many nieces and nephews. Marlin was a member of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, and served as communion steward. Found and cut down the oversized Christmas tree and painted the outdoor carolers. Most recently he attended Bethel United Methodist Church in Lower Burrell, where he sang in the choir, helped with blacklight, enjoyed assisting the church youth (Youth 95 and Blacklight), and jumped in as a handyman. He was a painter as a young adult, served in Japan in the Navy, retired from the Alcoa communication department, and was a member of the Alcoa Singers. He enjoyed fishing, skiing, boating, bowling, attending the symphony, baking pies, and learning new things. Friends will be received from 5:30 to 8 p.m., Monday, April 21, 2025, at the RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road, at Alder St., where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2025, by Rev. Sara Wrona followed by Military Honors by the Navy. Burial will be private in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
