Marlon "Stub" Luce

Marlon "Stub" Luce, age 68, passed away unexpectedly on November 22nd, 2024, at his home in Cleveland, Georgia.
Stub was born on February 12th, 1956, in Montpelier, Vermont, to Doris and Eugene Luce. Stub graduated from Harwood Union High School in Duxbury, Vermont in 1974. Stub learned the refuse business in first Warren and then Burlington, Vermont. In 1993, Stub and his business partner, Anthony Grutadaurio moved to Georgia with the dreams of starting their own trash company. It was there he met his future wife Lynn Thompson, whom he was lovingly married to for the last 29 years of his life.
Stub was an avid outdoorsman who loved deer hunting. He was also a devoted Atlanta Braves fan. Later in life he enjoyed his time on his farm, as well as spending time with his family at the beach.
Stub had a quiet strength with a great sense of humor. Stub was incredibly humble, charitable, and treated everyone with respect.
He is preceded in death by his parents Doris and Eugene Luce. He is survived by his wife Lynn Luce. His brother Jeff (Carol) Luce, and his sister Diane Luce. Three sons, Trevor (Danielle) Luce, Nathan Luce, and Hunter Luce. Three daughters, Dana (Paul) Roberts, April (Justin) Burdette, and Maria Luce. He had six grandchildren, Cailyn McCall, Isabella Luce, Sophia Luce, Chance Luce, Breanna Cone, and Cameron Cone. His mother-in-law Bobbie Jinks, two sisters-in-law Carol (Richard) Jones, and Teresa (Michael) McPherson. As well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
