Marlowe was born March 30, 1971 and went to be with her Savior on March 11, 2025. Visitation will be held at Oak Ridge Methodist Church from 10:00-11:00 am on Thursday, March 13, 2025, with funeral service at 11:00 am with Father Whit Stodghill officiating. Graveside service will follow at Rhymes Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn’s funeral home.

Marlowe attended Neville High School where she participated in cheerleading and was very popular among her peers.

She was a world class equestrian and excelled in every area of horseback riding from barrel racing to jumping. She won many buckles, cash prizes, and ribbons for her performances at horse shows and rodeos. She shared her love of horses and horseback riding by teaching lessons. Always cheerful, funny, and encouraging to her students, she inspired a love of the sport in others. Nobody could ride horses like Marlowe. It was a joy to witness her expertise. Marlowe loved being outdoors and was also an avid and very successful hunter.

Marlowe was a compassionate person. She attended nursing school and the skills she learned enabled her to be a help and comfort to her grandmother Robertine (Haggy), her mother Amanda, and her father Scooter.

Marlowe became a private investigator for a time, operating out of arguably the two most conspicuous vehicles of all time – a big loud truck and a fire engine red Jeep.

Marlowe has two beautiful children Tyler and Carlee whom she loved so dearly from her marriage to Ray “Rooster” Hamby. She married her devoted husband Preston Barham in 2006, and he lovingly cared for her until the time of her passing.

Throughout her life, Marlowe was fun, beautiful, fearless, and anything but dull. She will be remembered for her truly extraordinary skill with horses, her friendly nature, her easy laughter, and her remarkable beauty.

She is preceded in death by her mother Frances Amanda Cobb Mott, her father Marlow Neil “Scooter” Morgan, and her stepfather Neil Mott, her grandparents Benajah Bibb Cobb, Robertine Rhymes Cobb, Gordon Lee “Skeeter” Morgan, and Louise Cook Morgan.

She is survived by her husband William Preston Barham, her children Tyler Cobb Hamby (Sarah) and their children Rylee Rae and Georgia, Carlee Hamby Branch (Randy Joe) and their children Rye Benson and Jovi Jane, her stepdaughters Margaret Barham (Adam Williams) and their daughter Ellen, and Ellie Latino (Matt) and their children Jude and Jacob, her brother Neil Cobb Morgan (Shawn) and their daughter Mary Auburn, her sister Amiee Morgan and her son Travis Dean Adams, and all her loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be David Joseph, Joshua Joseph, Will Barham, Hunter Boggs, Walker Boggs, Thomas Boggs.

Memorials can be made to Benajah Bibb Cobb, MD. Nursing Scholarship at ULM. 700 University Ave. Suite 102 Monroe, LA 71209.
