Marlys A. Danielson, age 86, of Fargo and West Fargo passed away at Bethany Skilled Care on Friday, July 14, 2023. She died peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
Marlys was born on March 7th, 1937, in Moorhead, MN. She grew up on a farm near Dwight, ND, the daughter of Arthur and Myrtle Ouren, with her 2 siblings. She graduated from Wahpeton State School of Science with a business degree. She began her career at New York Life. After her children were born, she stayed home and did daycare. She then worked 18 years at Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Marlys married the love of her life, Harold "Dan" Danielson on May 9th, 1959. They raised their 3 children in North Fargo.
Marlys enjoyed hosting many coffee parties with friends and family gatherings. She was a great cook and loved to bake. She was very active at Hope Lutheran church serving many funerals with her circle group along with meeting for bible study. Marlys and Dan were members of Hope Lutheran Church for 58 years. They also volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
Marlys and Dan loved to travel. They took numerous road trips and bus tours throughout their 64 years of marriage.
Her grandchildren were a highlight in her life. She attended many dance recitals, theatre plays, soccer, baseball and basketball games. She was their biggest fan!
She was preceded in death by her parents. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Dan; children, Sue (Jim) Kuchar, Steve (Sheila) Danielson, Shari (Al) Enno; grandchildren, Jaimie (Michael) Catterall, Kelli (Mike) Kettelhut, Alison, Andrew, Blake, Bre (Tom Smurr) Murchie, Bryce; great-grandchildren, Charlie, Mikey; sister, Julie Lindberg; brother, Jerry (Jeanne) Ouren; and many extended family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Hope Lutheran Church South Campus, 3636 25th Street South, Fargo, ND with a visitation one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Ethos Home Health Care and Hospice 3361 45th Street South, Suite 100, Fargo, ND 58104.
