Marma Lee Boles

Marma Lee Sunshine Smith Boles, age 89, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at Morning Pointe, Greeneville, TN. She ws married for 56 years to the love of her life, James L (Junior) Boles.

Marma Lee had many accomplishments in her life. She attended Tusculum College, retired from Keene Corporation and the United States Department of Agriculture. In her later years, she volunteered as an usher at NPAC and was a music librarian and office assistant at Trinity United Methodist Church for many years. She was a member of the Greeneville Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 223, a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir. She worked many elections in Greeneville. Marma Lee loved children and was like a grandmother to many.

Marma Lee was preceded in death by her loving husband, James L (Junior) Boles; son, Bobby Franklin Boles; parents, Jay and Flora Smith; sister, Remona Parker; and half brother, Darwin Smith.

She is survived by her brother, Jay Franklin (Brenda) Smith; sisters, Ina (Ralph) Martin and Elizabeth Weems; sisters-in-law, Patty House, Brenda Tolliver, Phyllis Galliher, and Wanda Wilkerson; God children, Tracy Gass, Tewana (Jason) Bohn, Angela Smith, and Justin (Erin) Smith; God grandchildren Ryan (Hannah) Messer, Alicia Messer, Zachary Smith, Daniel Smith, Bethany Smith, Adalyn Smith, Conner Bohn, and Cameron Bohn; special niece, Debbie (Mike) Szutak; special nephew, Chris (Vanessa) Boles, special friend, Dan Spice, and a dear special friend William "Bill" Vaughn and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3-8pm Saturday January 3, 2026 at Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Service Downtown. The funeral service will be at 12:30 pm Sunday at Mountain Valley Church of the Brethren Church with Pastor Craig Ford officiating. The burial will follow in Price Cemetery at Romeo.

Pallbearers will be Justin Smith, Tracy Gass, Jason Bohn, Chris Boles, Josh Boles, and Mike Szutack.

Honorary pallbearers are Teddy Gaby, Cameron Bohn, Conner Bohn, Mark Weems, Dan Spice, Aaron Smith, and Mike Boles.
