Mr. Marques V "Mark" Ackey

Mr. Marques V. "Mark" Ackey was born September 16, 1979, to Susie Ackey and Pierre Jackson, Sr., in Griffin Spalding County, Georgia. Mark V. Ackey received his formal education at Griffin High School in Griffin, Georgia. He furthered his education at Southern Crescent Technical College. Mark as he was so affectionately called by family and friends, was employed by DHL/Simos Company. He was well renowned for his exceptional leadership in the logistics operations, and supply chain management. Additionally, he was certified as a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, a licensed Real Estate Agent, Certified in Loan Origination, licensed as a Professional Auto Broker, and used motor vehicle dealer, all underscored by countless outstanding Leadership awards. In Marques leisure time he also loved working on cars, fishing, and carpentry.
Mr. Marques V. "Mark" Ackey departed this life on Sunday, September 17, 2023. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alton and Mattie Ackey; uncles, Randal and Rodney Ackey, and Simon Fuller; aunt, Carol Tucker, and cousin, Laquisa Lawon.
Those left to cherish his precious memories are his mother and stepfather, Susie (Arthur) Atkins of Griffin, GA; father, Pierre Jackson, Sr., of Orlando, FL; brother, Pierre (Shekima) Jackson, Jr.; nieces, Brittany and Sheniya Jackson; nephews, Pierre and Elijah Jackson; great niece and nephew, Zyion and Poet Jackson;
godchildren, Niyandna Brown, Alexus Taylor, Jada Scales, Justin Zellner, Beau and Bella Sims; aunts, Annette Fuller, and Jennifer Ackey of Griffin, GA; Paulette Johnson of Fayetteville, GA; very special friends, Burt and Christian Sims, Nina Johnson, Steven Tyler, and a host of cousins and friends that will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023, from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Burden's Funeral Home. A Home Going Celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at Burden's Funeral Home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service hour. Interment will follow in Westwood Garden Cemetery. Minister Carol Evans is the Eulogist.
