Sherry Taylor Blalock

Mrs. Sherry Taylor Blalock, age 75, of Griffin, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

Sherry was born on September 30, 1949, in Griffin, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Almond Clay "Red", and Nellie Harper Taylor. Sherry was also preceded in death by her husband, James Wesley Blalock, and by her brother, Larry G. Taylor.

Sherry graduated from Griffin High School in 1967 and worked for V.I. Greer Tax & Bookkeeping for several years. She then worked for Dundee Mills for 24 years and retired from Laurus Technical School in Jonesboro, Georgia in 2011. She also worked with her husband, Wesley, in teaching CPR classes to different organizations in Griffin and the surrounding areas.

Sherry was a cancer survivor of 27 years and volunteered with the Relay for Life event in Griffin for many years. She loved working out in the yard and gardening. She enjoyed going camping and being with family and friends.

Sherry was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church and served in many positions in the Church while there.

Sherry is survived by her daughter, Christie and Stephen Wall of Griffin; stepson, Jason and Melissa Blalock, Jaden, Meri and Jordan of Dawsonville, Georgia; stepdaughter, Heather and John McNasby, Marlia and Jonna, of St. Cloud, Florida; and several cousins also survive.

Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A memorial service for Mrs. Sherry Taylor Blalock will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 1:30 pm in the chapel of Conner-Westbury, with Pastor Ed Swehla officiating.
