Marsha Kay Banks
July 29, 1948 – August 19, 2025
Marsha Kay Banks, 77, of Osceola, Indiana, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on August 19, 2025.
Born in South Bend on July 29, 1948, Marsha was the daughter of the late Leonard and Helen (White) Alford. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jim (Sandy) Alford, and her brother-in-law, Jim Batten
On December 27, 1969, Marsha married the love of her life, Larry Banks, in Osceola. Together they built a beautiful life centered around family, faith, and service. Marsha dedicated many years of her career as a dietitian to the Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation and Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, where her compassionate spirit touched many lives.
Marsha had a deep love for reading and crocheting, and found joy in nurturing both her own children and her grandchildren. Her life was a true reflection of selflessness, always caring for those around her. She had a special affection for animals, especially her beloved dogs.
Marsha also volunteered as a board member of Osceola Little League for years. She helped create a league for children with special needs which she was also a coach. She loved being able to give these children the joy of experiencing sports and being on a team.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Larry Banks, and their four children: Scott (Stacy) Banks, Becky (Chad) Bralick, Nate (Barbara) Banks, and Jenny Banks. She was a proud grandmother to Brendan, Kyle (Nancy), Hannah, Hunter, Izzy, Kirstin, Andrew, Lainey, Waldemar, Abby, Skylar, and Emory, and a great-grandmother to Jaydon. Marsha is also survived by her sister, Jerry Batten, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Marsha's life will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561, with Reverend Greg Crump officiating.

Marsha's love, kindness, and legacy will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.
A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, mawmaw, great-mawmaw, and friend,
Marsha Kay (Alford) Banks was born and raised in Osceola, IN.
From humble beginnings, Marsha built a life marked by strong faith in Our Lord,
selfless love for her family, genuine welcome to those who would extend her family, gentle compassion for animals,
and a simple joy that only these characteristics can bring.
If it was a flower in her garden, piece of decorative glass on her shelf, cup for her coffee, chair in her yard,
or handmade scarf around her neck, it was all the better and ever more special if it were red.
For all the things so many came to rely upon from Marsha
a big laugh at a well-timed joke, a devious grin when getting her way,
reddened cheeks of embarrassment at undesired attention, a gentle hand of encouragement,
a quiet word of faith, a strong hug of pride, support, comfort, and love
she will be missed and forever loved in return!
Marsha, may you forever be at peace in the arms of Our Lord!
