Marsha Kay (Gettig) Fannin, 63, of Howard, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on September 13, 1961, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Elaine June (Lucas) Gettig. Marsha graduated from Bald Eagle Area High School in 1979 and went on to earn an Associate degree in Computer Science from Ivy Tech Community College in Muncie, Indiana, in 1997. She worked as a bookkeeper for Dry Dock Marina and had a lifelong passion for technology, including building and repairing computers.
In 1987, she married Perry P. Lehman, with whom she had two precious daughters. Following their divorce, she married Michael A. Fannin, on July 17, 2004, in Parker City, Indiana, who survives at home. They moved back to Pennsylvania in 2009 to care for Marsha's mother.
Marsha was deeply loving, generous, intelligent, and creative. She was a quiet force in the lives of those who knew her, always available with a listening ear and an open heart. She had a love of old houses, architecture, design, and dollhouse miniatures.
She also shared a passion for fishing with her husband, Mike. Together, they were members of the Bass-A-Holics bass club in Indiana and loved spending time on the water.
Marsha grew up attending Mount Eagle Church of Christ in Howard with her family and reconnected with her faith later in life. She was a devout Christian who lived her faith through compassion and care for others, especially animals. Over the years, she rescued and nurtured many stray cats, including pregnant mothers and kittens that needed special care. She saw value and beauty in everything and never turned away an animal in need.
Along with her first husband, Perry, and her current husband, Mike, Marsha is survived by her daughters, Elaina C. M. Read and her husband, Tanner, of Pennsylvania Furnace and Lindsey D. K. Lehman and her significant other, Cullen Boudreaux, of Howard; two stepdaughters, Kelly J. Fannin of Parker City, IN and Kristi R. Fannin of Winchester, IN; four grandchildren, Sam, Peyton, Tatum, and Miley; one great grandchild; two sisters, Gwendolyn Carusone and her husband, Al, and Bobbi Gettig, both of Howard; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She is also survived by "her boys", two dogs, Ozzie and Wally.
Along with her parents, Marsha was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Gettig and her niece, Jamie Goodyear.
A viewing will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, at the Barbara Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Centre Hall from 5pm to 6pm. A funeral service will immediately follow at 6pm with Evelyn Wald officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Pets Come First, 2451 General Potter Hwy, Centre Hall, PA 16828
