Marsha Beatrice Awbrey Weber was born June 10, 1951, in Wichita, Kansas to Vernon and Veta Awbrey. She was the youngest of three children, with an older brother and sister.

Marsha's mother passed away when she was three years old. She then went to live with her uncle and aunt, Charles and Beatrice Losey. As they raised her as their own, she soon began to consider them her parents. Charles was a lamb buyer for Swift Company. Because of his job, they lived in Nebraska, Texas, and eventually, in Chicago. Marsha graduated from high school in Chicago. Shortly after graduation, Charles retired and the family moved to Greeley in the late 60's.

Not long after arriving in Greeley, Marsha got a job at the Weld County General Hospital, which later became the Northern Colorado Medical Center. She worked as a unit secretary at the hospital for forty years, until her retirement. Through the years, she developed long-lasting friendships with her coworkers.

It was also while working at the hospital, in 1978, that she met Dean Weber, a patient on the mend from a work-related injury. Dean and Marsha began dating, were then engaged, and were married April 6, 1979. They were married for more than 46 years. Marsha enjoyed traveling with Dean and also found time to pursue other interests. She enjoyed gardening and yardwork, working jigsaw puzzles, and sewing. She was a member of the Friends of Counted Embroidery stitching group, meeting regularly with them. Marsha also loved animals and her pet cats.

Marsha was a devoted Christian. She and Dean were members of the Westview Church of Christ in Greeley, actively worshiping with and serving in their church family. Marsha also devoted a great deal of time to her mom, Beatrice, taking care of her until her death in 2016.

Marsha was diagnosed with cancer in 2010. She qualified for an experimental treatment program and was able to continue living with a high degree of normalcy for several years, being involved in church activities, working around the house, taking care of her mom, and traveling. It was only in the last two to three years that her health began to decline.

Marsha passed away on August 31, 2025, at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. She was 74 years old. She is survived by her husband of forty-six years, Dean, of Greeley; her stepson, Carl Weber, of Greeley; and one brother, David Awbrey, of Jefferson City, Missouri.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Westview Church of Christ in Greeley (4151 W. 20th St.) on Friday, September 12th, at 11 a.m. A meal will be provided afterwards.

Donations in her name can be sent to NOCO Humane (formerly the Humane Society of Weld County). The mailing address is 1620 42nd St., Evans, CO 80620.

Yesterday

I am so sorry to hear about Marsha´s passing. We worked together at the hospital and played bunco once a month for years. Such a sweet woman. She will be dearly missed.
