Mr. Marshall Daniel Hiers, 78, of Varnville, entered into eternal rest Wednesday evening, July 2, 2025. At Hampton Regional Medical Center.
Born April 22, 1947, in Lodge, he was a son of the late Louis Capers Hiers and Reba Davis Hiers. He worked for Piggly Wiggly for over 50 years and retired as the Produce Manager. Marshall was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and gardening. He also loved the Carolina Gamecocks and Elvis.
Surviving are: his children, Melissa "Missy" Hiers Mosley (Robert) of Varnville, Stacy Hiers Brunson (John Tuten) of Nixville, and Shan Crosby (Denise) of Macon, Georgia; grandchildren, Rachael Mosley Whittington (J.J.), Jonathan Mosley, Olivia Brunson, Arron Brunson (Shelbie Robertson), Kate Brunson, Cheyenne Crosby Kuzma (Montana), Jared Crosby, and loved many others that he considered his grandchildren; great grandchild, Orianna Brunson; brothers, Dan Hiers (Linda) of Hampton, Doug Hiers (Vickie) of Hampton, and Terry Hiers of Varnville; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Hiers; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Louie Hiers, Ann Smyly, and Helen Hiers.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 6 until 8 pm, at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Varnville.
