Marshall Lewis Hodges of Callaway passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Carole Craighead Hodges; Son, Donald Keith Hodges; Mother and father, Grace and Wilbur Hodges.
Marshall (Goldie) was the head mechanic at West Motor Sales in Roanoke where he retired in 1999. He loved God, his family and in his spare time, hunting and fishing. He was strong physically and mentally and had tremendous courage and spirit. He never met a stranger and was an instant friend to all he met. He was an active member at Monte Vista Church of Brethren in Callaway.
Surviving are his children, Ronnie Hodges, (Patricia), Janice Clingenpeel, (Rickey), Amanda Parker, (Chuck), Lori Hodge. Also surviving are his brothers, Wayne Hodges, (Agnes), Earl Hodges, (Jean), Carlton Hodges; Sister, Eleanor St. Pierre, (Ronnie); Grandchildren, Erica Hancock. Mavis Jamal, (Alykhan). Shannon Riley, (Adam). Jessica Flanagan. Ryan Clingenpeel, (Billie Jo), Cameron Eberth, (Eric), Morgan Bowles, (Trent), Alex Bowles, (Anthony), Marissa Grubb, (Scott), Dalton Grubb, Dillon Hodge; Step Grandchildren, Elyse Parker, (Diego), Cheyenne Severt, (Matt); Great-Grandchildren: Cheyanne Hancock, Naomi Hodges, Savannah Riley, Skyler Riley, Jaxson Riley, Olivia Flanagan, Hayden Smith, Thomas Smith, Samuel Perkins, Ella Spaulding, Noah Reynolds, Karagan Grubb, Emerson Simpson, Luna Simpson; Step Great-Grandchildren: Alice Turner, Madelyn Turner, Natalie Turner, Hudson Severt, Graham Severt, Noella Reynolds, Aidan Simpson, Aubrey Simpson.
A special thank you from our family to Louise Guilliams, who he called “one of God’s angels”, caregiver and dear friend and to ACG Hospice, nurses and staff. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your love, care, and support that was given to our loving friend & father.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Monte Vista Church of the Brethren with Pastor Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. His family will be receiving friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, 62 Virginia Market Place Drive, Rocky Mount, VA
