Sarah met her husband Ronnie at the age of 6 on their first day of school. They married in 1970 and together built a life rooted in Jesus Christ. Their 54-year marriage is a testimony to their love for each other and the Lord and left an example for their descendants to follow.
Sarah worked for the nursing department at Radford University for 51 years. She was instrumental in the lives of many nursing students and worked tirelessly to help in admissions, scholarships, and many other ways to pave the way for their success. Her most important job was caring for her family. She spent most of her life caring for her late husband and gave him round the clock care during the last year of his life. Her daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were recipients of her love and care, and her legacy will live on in them.
She was a member of Clearbrook Baptist Church. As a former member of Boones Mill Baptist Church she served in many ways, including teaching Sunday School, children’s clubs, and being a deacon’s wife. She lived a life defined by a deep love for her savior, Jesus Christ.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Clearbrook Baptist Church with Dr. Bryan W. Ratliff and Pastor James H. Steele officiating. The Janney family will receive friends beginning at 10 AM at the church.
