Virginia “Jenny” Lee Akers, 67 of Callaway Virginia, devoted wife, loving mother and adoring grandmother went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. She will never suffer the pain of this life again, she is free. Jenny was a natural and gifted caregiver. She was selfless and nurturing. She cared for anyone in need, those in and out of her own family. She was there for those who had illness or injury and gave loving care freely. Jenny was born on February 22, 1958 to the late Claude Beckner and Delphia Beckner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Rice William Akers III, a sister, Susan Sanders and brother, David Beckner.
She is survived by her three children who will forever miss her unconditional love, Katie Howlett (Bryon), Brandy Akers (Chris), and Rice William Akers IV. She is survived by two great joys of her life, her grandchildren, Jolee Hairston and Lorlie Torrence. She is survived by her dear brothers, Tommy Beckner, James “Jay” Beckner, Bobby Beckner (Brenda), and dear sister Mary Sanders. She is also survived by a large family of loving nieces, nephews and cousins along with a wonderful family of in-laws left to cherish her memory. Per Jenny’s wishes services are private.
