Obituary of Marshlyn Garcia Rogers
Marshlyn Garcia-Rogers, 75, of Greeley, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022 at UC Health Greeley Hospital. She was born April 26, 1946 in Ragtown, just outside of Eaton to Frances Jaramillo Escajeda.
Marshlyn grew up and attended schools in Eaton. She married Joseph Garcia and he later passed away on December 16, 1977. She then married Charlie Rogers on August 7, 1981 and they divorced but remained friends. He passed away in November 2021.
She worked for Montgomery Wards, Kodak, Teledyne Water Pik, drove school bus and worked in the school kitchen while they lived in Arickaree. After moving back to Greeley, she worked as an office clerk for Monfort Corporate and then for BFI/Waste Management before semi-retiring.
She had a very strong faith and a close relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She also loved to travel, sharing time between Minnesota and Colorado as well as cooking, dancing, reading, playing computer games, road trips, going to Las Vegas and had an adventurous spirit. She was a volunteer with Meals-on-Wheels, was a caregiver, enjoyed helping others, had a generous heart, and was passionate about her politics and support of Israel. Above all else, she loved her family and spending time with them.
Thankful to have shared her life are her children; Greg Garcia, Jackie (Devon) Satterwhite and Dave "Chewy" (Stacey) Garcia, five grandchildren; Tamara Proctor, Devon "Tre" (Victoria) Satterwhite, Celeste "Sissy" Satterwhite, Madi Garcia and Dawson Garcia, five great-grandchildren; Damious, Jetsen "Jet", Gianna "GiGi", Cree and Zalida, siblings; Dave (Sandy) Mitchell, Lynda (Jose) Moreno, Joseph (Marysue) Mitchell, Candice (Michael) Morrissey, Jose Morado Jr. (Rosa) and Sylvia (Virgil) Anthony.
She was preceded by her mother, siblings; Frances "Ponch" Donahue, Ben and Roger Manzanares, as well as her husbands.
Visitation 6-7 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2022 at Adamson. Life Celebration 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Adamson with burial to follow at the Eaton Cemetery. A reception will follow at Peakview Trail Clubhouse. Friends may leave condolences at AdamsonCares.com.
