Marta Friedrich Obituary

Marta Friedrich
Marta M. Friedrich, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, at the Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan, Michigan. Born on March 18, 1929, in Schorndorf, Germany, Marta's journey was marked by her selfless nature and the joy she brought to those around her.
Marta's life was a testament to the power of love and family. She married the love of her life, Paul Friedrich, on December 10, (1949), and together they embarked on a new adventure, immigrating to Midland, Michigan in 1955. Their love story was one for the ages, After Paul's death in 1987, Marta moved to Boyne City, Michigan in 1998.
A loving mother, Marta is survived by her devoted children, Bernd (Peggy) Friedrich, Dennis (Carol) Friedrich, and Peter (Leasa) Friedrich. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Paul Friedrich, Erika (Ryan) Kneeshaw, Lindsey (Brian) Cooper, Brock (Christina Meadows) Friedrich, Adam (Caitlin) Friedrich, Haili (Kyle) DeYoung, and Jared Friedrich, and her great-grandchildren, Greyson, Peyton, Jack, Faine, Riker, Sadie, Elizabeth, Sofia, Penelope, and Hudson. Each of them carries a piece of Marta's spirit, her lessons of love, and her nurturing presence.
Marta was a woman of many passions, finding joy in the simplicity of life's pleasures. She was an avid golfer, often found playing with her husband on Sundays and with her girlfriends during the week. Her strokes were as graceful as her demeanor, and her presence on the green was always a source of camaraderie and gentle competition. Marta also found solace in the water, swimming at the Community Center in Midland, where she moved with the elegance that characterized her every action.
A culinary artist, Marta delighted in cooking traditional German dishes for her family and friends. Her kitchen was a haven of warmth and the heart of the home, where the scent of her cooking would wrap you in a comforting embrace. Her recipes were more than just instructions for a meal; they were stories of her heritage, love letters to her homeland, and a way for her to share her culture with those she cherished.
Those who knew Marta will remember her as the epitome of loving, kind, and selfless. Her actions spoke volumes of her character, always putting others before herself, and her impact on the world was as profound as it was gentle.
Preceding her in death were her beloved parents, Pauline and August Reile, her cherished husband, Paul Friedrich, her dear brother, Walter Reile, and her sister, Maria Falkenstein. They have now welcomed her with open arms, as she joins them in eternal peace.
Marta's life was a beautiful mosaic of moments that painted a picture of a woman who was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. Her memory will be cherished, her stories retold, and her spirit will continue to guide us. As we say goodbye to Marta M. Friedrich, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was, and we take comfort in knowing that her legacy will live on through the lives she touched.
Cremation has taken place, and a service will be held at a later date.
