Martae Antwain Gunnell Sr. (Good) 44, of Columbus, Oh passed away peacefully on January 16th, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Martae was born on April 15, 1981, in Columbus, Oh to Tonya Gunnell and William Norah. He was a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. Whose kindness and warmth touched everyone he met. Martae had the most beautiful smile. Also a gift for making people feel welcome, and was known for his gentle spirit and generous heart.
He worked at New Horizon Baking Company, where he was admired for his reliability and work ethic. Outside of work, Martae enjoyed spending time with his kids and attending their basketball games.
Martae is survived by his 5 children. Martae, Martaeyiah, Taemarr, Taemarrion, and Taemarri Gunnell 4, granddaughter Italy, Ivori, Iceland Gunnell, and Love Young. 2 grandsons Taemarr Gunnell Jr. and Loyal Young. 4 sisters Toneisha Newby, Nina Broomfield (Riccardo), Waltia Stewart (Josh), and Renada Manns 5 Brothers Juan Gunnell, Shaun Gunnell, Joseph Battle, Cameron Bowers, and Jerrell Gibson. 2 favorite cousins Keante’ (Dabbles) McGrew, and Margurite (Doodles) Gunnell. Special friend Jessica Harris and and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
