Willie Ruth Harris was born July 23, 1941 in Spartansburg, South Carolina to the late James and Lizzie Mae McMahan.
Willie spent her formative years in South Carolina but later moved to Columbus, Ohio, where she proudly graduated from Central High School. She built a successful career as a Team Leader in the retail industry, retiring from Schottenstein Department Store, where she was known for her exceptional work ethic and infectious smile.
A devoted family woman, Willie found her greatest joy in the company of her loved ones. She is survived by her beloved children, Denice Harris, Gordon Harris Jr., and Michael Harris, who were the light of her life. She is also remembered fondly by her brother-in-law, John Seals, and a host of relatives and friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and generosity.
Willie had a zest for life that was truly infectious. She loved hosting gatherings and parties, filling her home with laughter and joy. An avid motorcycle enthusiast, she treasured her time with her fellow club members at the Eagles Motorcycle Club, where she created lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories.
Family gatherings with her siblings were moments she cherished dearly, and they will always remember her warmth and unwavering support.
On January 23, 2026, Willie parted this life. She is preceded death by her mother Lizzy Mae McMahan, her father James McMahan, and her sister Jereline McMahan.
Willie is survived by her daughter Denice Harris, her sons Gordon Harris Jr. and Michael Harris (Faye), Her brothers Jimmy McMahan, Eugene McMahan, Ronnie McMahan, and Jerry McMahan, and her sister Diane McMahan. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
