Martha Lou Carter, 75 of Cawood, passed away at her home on June 4, 2025. She was born to the late Madlene McKeehan Farmer and Howard Farmer, Sr. on May 19, 1950. Martha was a strong believer in the Lord and a true Prayer Warrior. She loved her family and was a member of Cawood Church of God.
Ms. Carter is preceded in death by her Parents and her Husband, Joe Bill Carter.
Martha is survived by her Children, John Carter III and Wife Leighann and Darla Carter Heflin and Husband Anthony; Grandchildren, Jaycee Carter, Lia-Kate Carter and Luke Heflin; Brothers, Howard Farmer Jr. and Timothy Farmer; Sisters, Jan Higdon, Joyce Johnson, Alice Farmer and Laura Caraway; Several Nieces, Nephews, Church Family and Friends will also mourn her passing.
Visitation will be held from 12PM to 2PM in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home on Saturday, June 7, 2025. Funeral services will follow at 2PM also in the Chapel with her Children John Carter and Darla Carter Heflin officiating. Burial will follow at Fields Cemetery in Cawood with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
