Martha Carter Obituary
She was born January 13, 1943 in Carlinville, the daughter of Jonas and Dorothy Nichols Baker.
Betty married Gary D. Carter, Sr on June 23, 1962 and he preceded her in death on April 29, 2022. Also, preceded in death by her parents; one son, Richard Wade Carter and two sisters, Barb Baker and Patricia Trueblood.
Betty worked as a Postmaster for many years. She owned and operated Betty's Ceramics and Betty's Antiques in Divernon for many years. She was active in the Divernon Alumni Association. She served on the Divernon Village Board. Betty loved working on her family ancestry and family tree.
Surviving are two sons, Gary (Jaimee) Carter, Jr. and Eric (Mary) Carter; daughter-in-law, Jodi Carter; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Private family graveside services will be held.
