Our beloved Martha Jo Fouche Corbett passed away on June 24, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents Holland and Frances Scarborough Fouche, and her siblings, Holland Fouche Jr., Paula Fouche Campbell, and Charles Fouche; and great-grandson Cohen Carey. She is survived by her husband Jim Corbett and her two sons, Tim (Katherine) Carey and Bruce (Beth) Carey, as well as her grandchildren Ryan (Lauren) Carey, Erin Carey (Tom) Stillerman, Zach (Danielle) Carey, Sarah Carey, and Alex (Ethan) Carey Stringer; and her great-grandchildren Emma, Bennett, Anders, Ella, and Nora.
She was born and raised in Madison Co., GA. After marrying, she moved to the Metro Atlanta area during the boys' early years. Then they moved to Conyers. She was a faithful and devoted member of 1st Methodist Church in Conyers, then later transferred to the Seventh Day Adventist Church, also in Conyers. Her last home was Social Circle, GA, and she was a faithful member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Madison, GA. Martha retired from the Rockdale Co. School System, working first as a teacher's aide and later as secretary at JH House Elem.
Martha enjoyed sewing, cooking, playing bridge, helping Jim build wooden home décor for family and their church, socializing with close friends, and gathering her entire family for Thanksgiving.
Services will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Scot Ward Funeral Home in Conyers, GA. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm and the service will follow at 2:00pm, led by Pastor Juan Tuya.
